Midway Village Museum

Visitors explore life as it was at the turn of the 20th Century when touring exhibits or engaging in special events and programs at Midway Village Museum.

Midway Village WarVisitors engage in a variety of entertaining and educational experiences at the museum including:

  • Tours of a Victorian-Era village, guided by interpreters in period costumed clothing. Occurs seasonally, May though September.
  • The Village is situated on 13-acres of the 148 area campus on Rockford's east side, just minutes from I-90.
  • Exploring the Main Museum Center, which highlights history stories with interactive, permanent exhibits. Includes the "Many Faces, One Community" immigrant experience gallery.
  • Learning about manufacturing, recreation, travel, and even sock monkeys, which are all relevant to the greater Rockford region through these exhibits: Queen City of the Prairies; The Girls of Summer; The Missing Link: Socks, Monkeys, and Rockford's Industrial Past; Flight Gallery; Old Dolls' House Museum and The Millhouse.
  • Attending award-winning special events such as the annual World War II Days. This event boosts more than 1,000 re-enactors showcasing authentic military equipment, including vehicles and tanks.
  • Midway Village is an ideal setting for meeting or wedding rentals.
