Swimming Rules and Policies
- Children under ten years of age and children who cannot swim must be under the direct supervision of a swimming guardian age 16 or older. Guardians must be within an arm's reach of the child at all times.
- All children age three and under must wear tight fitting re-useable rubber swim pants or plastic pants in accordance with Rockford Park District regulations. Washable/reusable swim diapers can be purchased at the pools for $5 and are good for the entire season.
- Appropriate, lined swimwear is required as defined by pool staff. "Street" clothing, cut-offs, tee shirts and bras are not permitted as swimwear. Examples of proper swimwear are on display at each facility. This rule will continue to be enforced for both the safety and enjoyment of our valued guests. Aquatic staff reserves the right to check for proper swimwear at the front counter.
- Air temperature must be 68 degrees to open the pools. Facilities may close due to cool or dangerous weather, rain, or lack of attendance.
- Guardians are responsible for supervising children. Lifeguards are responsible for rule enforcement and responding to emergencies.
- Most, but not all, facility rules are posted. However, all guests must follow the direction of facility staff at all times.
- We have ZERO TOLERANCE for foul language/behavior, rough play, disrespect towards guests or staff, and failure to follow facility rules.
