Rockford's "Ravinia," where you can enjoy music during beautiful summer evenings under towering oak trees in a natural setting.
 
Dedicated in 1950, the Music Shell in Sinnissippi Park is an acoustic amphitheater, which can accommodate as many as 700 on benches, and up to 3,000 on the terraces and lawn.

History:
The Music Shell was officially presented to the City of Rockford and the Rockford Park District on June 4, 1950 by the Rockford Lions Club, in conjunction with the Rockford Civic Orchestra.

To commemorate the year 2010 as the 60th anniversary of the Sinnissippi Music Shell, the Rockford Park District has produced a CD comprised of songs from many of the favorite Music in the Park performers over the past decade.
