Registration is underway for Rockford Park District swimming lessons for children ages 6 months to 17 years (age as of June 1), and adults ages 18 and older.

Two-week weekday sessions for ages 6 months-age 17 begin the week of June 12, 2017, and are offered through late July. Lessons meet for eight 45-minute classes (30-minute classes for tots ages 5 and younger), offered Monday-Thursday at various times at Alpine and Sand Park pools. Adult lessons for ages 17 and older are offered in June and July evening sessions at Alpine Pool.

A Saturday morning session is offered for youth (only) at Alpine and Sand Park pools, and meets once a week June 17-August 5 (no class July 3-7). Each child registered for Bubble Club, Tiny Tots, or Shelbert’s Swim Academy receives five swim passes good for five free public swimming session admissions, plus one free Magic Waters day admission. (Limit one set of passes per person per summer.) Registration by skill level is also available for ages 5-17.

At Harkins Aquatic Center, free group swimming lessons are held daily from 2:15 until 3:00 p.m. through August 10th, 2017.

Rockford Park District also offers Junior Lifeguard and Advanced Jr. Lifeguard training sessions for youth ages 10-15, in sessions beginning June 12 through July 31, 2017 at Alpine Pool.
